What's changed about OU Create?

We’ve added a new WordPress only service to OU Create available to all staff and students. The web hosting platform you’ve been using up to now will be referred to as the Domain of One’s Own service – a part of OU Create.

Get direct access to cPanel so you can create something truly unique

Unlike our WordPress service, a Web Hosting account means you have to do more things yourself. In return, you get full control over the look and feel of your site.

You’ll be able to choose from a larger range of content management systems or simply code from scratch.

What can you do with a Domain?

While most users just need the WordPress only version of OU Create, staff as well as students can request a Domain.

It’s closer to a web hosting account, so it requires more setup, but it allows users to access some of the following features:

Alternative CMS options

You’re not just limited to WordPress. With Web Hosting, you can install any open source CMS including Media Wiki, Drupal, Joomla and more.

SSH & FTP access

Want to practice your front-end coding skills? Use FTP to maintain your site. You can even hook it up to your version control system.

New themes and plugins

Can’t find your preferred theme or that killer plugin on Coventry.Domains WordPress? With Web Hosting, the options are endless.
